04.07.2024 Laying of the foundation stone Diakonie Clinic Waiern

As part of the merger of the Diakonie Waiern hospital and the de la Tour Treffen hospital, the structure founded in 1894 and later additions were supplemented by an east and west wing, creating a spatial and functional ring closure. The foundation stone for the conversion and expansion of the Diakonie Klinik Waiern was laid on July 4, 2024 in the presence of Diakonie Rector Astrid Körner and Provincial Councillor Beate Prettner.

“…it is essential for us to sustain medical care here in Carinthia and, in this sense, to professionalize it even more and develop it further for the future.”
-Diakonie Rector Astrid Körner

The new Diakonie Clinic in Waiern is due to open in 2026 and will then offer a wide range of psychiatric and physical treatments as well as care for the elderly for Waiern and the surrounding area.
