Dietger Wissounig was awarded the Architekturpreis des Landes Steiermark 2016 for the Erika Horn nursing home in Andritz, Graz.
The Architekturpreis des Landes Steiermark is awarded every three years in recognition of projects that make a contribution to contemporary, high-quality architecture in Styria.
The prize was awarded by Tina Gregorič (Ljubljana), who was responsible for the awarding of the architecture prize as curator this year:
“In terms of a user- and community-oriented architectural approach, which at the same time features clear spatial concepts and special care in construction and materials, the winning project stands out from the submitted projects.
It is a special combination of successful spatial organisation in all details with a high level of social competence and empathy that distinguishes the Erika Horn nursing home in Andritz by Dietger Wissounig Architekten.”
The architecture award was presented by Dr. Christian Buchmann in the festive framework of the Cultural Award Ceremony of the Province of Styria on 17 November 2016 at 7.00 pm in the Joanneum Quarter.
In addition, Dietger Wissounig already had the pleasure of receiving two “BAU.GENIAL prizes for exemplary solution approach” in Vienna on 10 November 2016, which he received for the Erika Horn and Peter Rosegger nursing home.
