With their holistic approach to the design process, the Iconic Awards establish a new dimension in architectural awards. Awards are given to visionary buildings, innovative products and sustainable communication from all sectors of architecture, construction and real estate as well as the manufacturing industry. The focus is on the holistic staging and interaction of the trades in the context of architecture. With this award, the German Design Council would like to strengthen the interdisciplinary dialogue and at the same time deepen the public’s understanding of architecture. Last but not least, the awards in the special categories honour those personalities who, with their visionary power, give our environment lasting new impetus.
